Which Ubuntu Server version is this, and could you provide the link? Having a hard time getting a GUI on server for my IBM System x3650 7979AC1 rack mount server. I really want to use the server edition but I know little to nothing about commands. I like desktop 64bit but its having issues with placing the Ubuntu Logo in the lower right side of my display instead of the center, and it wont go past that screen. Any help would be much appreciated!

    you can also just do
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop

The tasksel command does work, yet I am still having an issue installing a desktop GUI for my server. When I select Vanilla Gnome, Xubuntu, Lubuntu or Ubuntu, the system seems to crash meaning my cursor moves to the next line under the pretty purple window with the list of selections to make. It goes into black space and does nothing. This is BS because I installed server 17.10 last month and had no problem. There was even a GUI desktop. Then something got messed up and the sudo command quit working. This was just before Ubuntu told everyone not to install 17.10 because of known issues with some computers BIOS. Have been trying to install 16.04.3 and am having the same issue. Where else can I get help?
